Hi Visitors!

I would like to tell you about an amazing thing that happened to our group yesterday.

Yesterday we have met a delegation of non-Jewish people from USA. They took us to a tour in the Jerusalem Bible Museum, we ate "Sufganiot" (Hanukkah donates) together and we sang Hannukah songs with Jewish people from Illinois through Skype.

Therefore, we would like to wish you all Happy Hannukah, eat a lot of donates and sing as much as you can!

Welcome :)

Hello visitors

.I would like to tell you a little bit about SYL

Over the past eight years our home town of Sderot experienced an unbearable security situation which resulted in obvious decline of educational and leadership activity.

Everyone in Sderot agrees that too much time has passed waiting for OTHERS to initiate change.

For this reason, We the children who have survived over 10,000 Kassam rockets, have committed to take up the challenge and for the past three years have strived to train ourselves in learning new skills, and help generate a better future for all.

We have pledged to take the lead for the rebuilding of both our town and ourselves’ educationally, socially and professionaly.

We are strong believers that the best individuals to involve in this challenge are the teenagers because of their fresh, energetic & enthusiastic look on life. Thus our project begins with local children in the eighth and ninth grades (13-15 years old).

Our key goals for the program include:
making positive, long term contributions & improvements to Sderot’s society and to have its members advance themselves educationally and socially in preparation for the professional world.

Members of our program are committed to enrich, and to improve the standard of living for those around them. We have chosen to place a strong emphasis on Community Service and Mentoring.

Through employing these techniques, our members will acquire essential skills for success. Just as important, for the sustainability of the program, our participants will attain the competence which will enable them to pass on their knowledge to the next generation of members.

In this way we will achieve our goal of empowering Sderot youth to bring about major changes in the operation of our community.
